About Us

The Saskatchewan Games Council is a not-for-profit provincial organization made up of three full-time, permanent staff members and 10 Directors whose focus is to provide a quality multi-sport experience for our province's young, developing athletes. The Council is the permanent regulatory body for the Saskatchewan Games program, which sees participation from thousands of athletes, coaches, and officials at each event and takes place in communities across the province every two years, alternating between summer and winter.

The Council also provides extensive logistical support for Team Saskatchewan's participation in the Canada Summer and Winter Games. In addition to our work with the Saskatchewan Games and Team Sask, we provide funding support to the Tony Cote First Nations Games and the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association 55+ Provincial Games.

The Saskatchewan Games program celebrated its 50th anniversary at the 2023 Saskatchewan Winter Games in Regina from February 19-25, 2023. The next Saskatchewan Summer Games will take place in Lloydminster from July 21-27, 2024.

How are we involved with the Saskatchewan Games?

Our purpose is to manage and conduct the Saskatchewan Games program and ensure a quality multi-sport experience for our province's young developing athletes. We maintain the high standard of the Saskatchewan Games program by working with host communities to advise and assist in all aspects of the planning and staging of a Saskatchewan Games.

We also maintain the Saskatchewan Games program by providing a hosting grant. This grant ensures host communities will have a lasting legacy of quality facilities, volunteers and an energized community spirit long after the Games have ended.
