Lloydminster was thrilled to host the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games, presented by Teine Energy! The Saskatchewan Games are our province's biennial celebration of sport, culture, and community. The 2024 Games built community pride, have left a lasting legacy in Lloydminster by updating and making improvements to sport and recreation facilities, and provided an oppportunity for Saskatchewan's top young athletes to compete in a top-notch multi-sport event that fosters sport development province-wide. More than 2,000 participants from nine District Teams across Saskatchewan gathered to compete in 14 sports over seven days, all for one incredible experience!
A dedicated group of volunteers formed the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games Host Organizing Committee, and operated under the following mission and values.
Mission Statement:
The 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games will provide athletes an opportunity to excel in an environment that ensures high level competition, care and comfort in a community that will come together to celebrate sport and culture.
Goals:
The 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games Host Committee aims to:
- Develop collaborative partnerships within the community and province to enhance sport for young athletes.
- Provide opportunity for participants to develop themselves as athletes and people.
- Commit to a high level of participant care and comfort in all decision making.
- Ensure the community enjoys a legacy of facilities, equipment, and volunteerism to assist in sport development for future generations.
- Demonstrate leadership through fiscal responsibility, accountability, and mentorship.
- Create an opportunity to showcase Lloydminster and region to the province of Saskatchewan, thus enhancing the economic impact.
- Celebrate a spirit of inclusion and diversity.
