OTS Community Grant to Support a Legacy
Jun 5, 2015

Estevan, Saskatchewan, Friday, June 5, 2015 - The Estevan Oilfield Technical Society (OTS) announced today that $10,000 of their Community Initiative Grant will be issued to the Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games Committee to assist with their rebuilding of the Athletics Field, located at the Estevan Comprehensive School.  In recognition for this assistance, the OTS will be given legacy-naming rights for a period of ten (10) years on a section of grandstands located at the field.

“We felt that assisting in the rebuild of the Athletics Field was a perfect fit for our organization,” stated Brett Campbell, President of the OTS.  “Our society has always been very focused on building our community, as well as assisting other non-profit groups in our community in their efforts to do the same.  We see the work that the Estevan 2016 Committee is doing and know that they are creating a lasting legacy for southeast Saskatchewan.  Their efforts are to be commended and we wanted to be part of the Games. “

“The OTS group has always been known as builders in our community.  We are very thankful that they chose to assist us in our project at the Athletics Field.  They will go on record as assisting in building a top notched facility that will be enjoyed by our community for many years to come,” replied Brian Senchuk, Co-Chair of the Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games committee.

The rebuild of the Athletics Field, which began in 2014, and to be completed by July of 2015, will be a lasting legacy of the Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games and all that chose to support the initiative.  The facility will be home to the Athletics competition at the Games, the Estevan Legion Track and Field Club, and the ECS soccer and football teams.
