The Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games Committee welcomes the Estevan Hotel Association as the newest sponsor as they work their way towards energizing the Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games.
At the announcement today, Co-Chair of the Friends of the Games Committee, Kelly McConnell spoke of the importance of this sponsorship. “It is very valuable to our committee to have sponsors joining us at this time. We have lots of work to do prior to the 1.800 athletes arriving to our city in July of 2016. Having sponsors we can count on, ensures that we can make the games the best possible games for those athletes.”
As part of the Diamond Event sponsorship package, the Estevan Hotel Association had the opportunity to choose a venue to be the named sponsor of. Rebecca Westling, spokesperson of the Estevan Hotel Association, said “We are excited to be part of the Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games and all that it means to the community. We chose the soccer venue as we know there will be lots of athletes participating at that venue and because of the positive reputation that soccer has in our community. This is a very exciting way for the Energize Estevan funding from The Estevan Hotel Association to be utilized. ”
The donation from the Estevan Hotel Association marks the second Diamond Event sponsorship and the third in the way of the thirteen possible venues being named.
About the Estevan Hotel Association:
The Estevan Hotel Association was established in 2008 as an effort to recognize the instability of a city and industry that is driven by a worker boom. The Energize Estevan Fee is a fund instituted by the Estevan Hotel Association, to ensure long-term sustainability of the hospitality industry and community of Estevan. The fund is available to attract large-scale events and tourism initiatives to Estevan. It is open to the community and surrounding areas to access through applications in an effort to energize Estevan. Almost every North American city has a similar fee in place which is used to fund local activities.
