Enbridge Announced as 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games Diamond Event Sponsor
May 28, 2015

May 27, 2015 (Estevan, SK) – In support of the mission to energize the games, Enbridge was announced as a Diamond Event sponsor for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games through their investment of $60,000.

At today’s announcement, Bernie Bjorndalen, Co-Chair, Friends of the Games Committee, welcomed Enbridge as a key sponsor for the event and said the partnership will contribute to the success of the Games.

“It was important to our committee to bring Enbridge on board as a partner,” said Bjorndalen. “They are a key stakeholder in our community and their values align very closely to the values of the 2016 Games Committee. We both believe in creating a strong sustainable community and we feel this will be a valuable partnership on our road to the Games. ”

Enbridge is thrilled to be part of the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games, said John Williams, Enbridge’s Director, South Prairie Region.

“We look forward to helping make this a memorable event for Saskatchewan’s young athletes and all who attend.”

A venue will carry Enbridge’s name as part of the sponsorship. “We chose the equestrian venue to be our named venue as it is close to the heart of Estevan and the action of the Games. And that is where we want to be – in the heart of the Games,” explained Williams.

As part of the partnership, legacy naming rights were also announced. “Enbridge is pledging their support to our committee as an ongoing partner. In recognition of this valued support, we are pleased to announce that the new student walking path at the Estevan Comprehensive School will be the ‘Enbridge Walking Path’ for the next 10 years,” said Brian Senchuk, Games Committee Co-Chair. “This path will serve as a continued reminder to our community of Enbridge’s commitment.”
