July 20, 2015 (Estevan, SK) – In support of the mission to energize the games, Estevan’s local radio stations, CJ1150AM,
Sun102.3FM and Rock 106 are announced as a Diamond Event sponsor for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games
through committed investment of more than $50,000 in advertising sponsorship.
At today’s announcement, Bernie Bjorndalen, Co-Chair, Friends of the Games Committee, welcomed the three radio
stations on board as a key partners on the journey to the Estevan 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games.
“Without the support of our local media,” states Bjorndalen, “we would not be here today. The radio station was one of the
first businesses in Estevan to throw their official support behind the bid process to bring the Games to Estevan. They
have been a keen supporter of us and we know they will be a trusted partner in the year to come. With their commitment
to providing advertising over the next year, today we are recognizing their contribution to the Games with a Diamond
Event Sponsorship. As part of their sponsorship, today we are announcing that the speed swimming at the 2016
Saskatchewan Summer Games will be held at the CJ1150, Sun 102.3 FM, Rock 106 swimming venue. ”

The announcement of the sponsorship took place at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre, home of the 2016 swimming
competition. Also in attendance were members of Estevan’s Golden Eels Speed Swimming Club. Brian Senchuk, Co-
Chair of the Saskatchewan Summer Games comments, “I am so glad that many of our athletes were able to attend today.
They help us all keep things in perspective. We know that they are working hard every day to improve their skills in the
water. Athletes are the number one focus of our Board and therefore we are working hard every day to make the 2016
Games a memory of a life time for them. “
