Legacy Grant Program
As a result of the collective volunteer efforts, community partnerships, corporate support and a very successful host partnership agreement, the organizing committee of the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games is pleased to announce a revenue surplus of just over $150,000! This was realized due to record-breaking attendance, strong support of our host committee merchandise sales, and a sold-out Opening Ceremony. Our intent is to share the legacy from the Summer Games Event with our community and provide support to local sport, culture, recreation projects/programs that:
- Positively impact the community’s sport, culture and recreation community for groups of all ages within the City of Lloydminster and rural municipalities of Wilton and Brittania.
- Provide exposure for The Legacy of the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games.
- Sport refers to organized physical activities, events, and competitions that promote physical health, teamwork, discipline, and skill development. It includes both individual and team sports at various levels, from grassroots to high-performance programs.
- Culture represents the expression and celebration of community identity, heritage, and diversity through arts, festivals, traditions, and creative projects. It fosters a sense of belonging, promotes understanding among diverse groups, and preserves the historical and contemporary values that define a community.
- Recreation involves activities that enhance personal health, relaxation, and enjoyment, accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Recreation includes organized and informal activities like fitness programs, outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, and social clubs.
