Farewell to Board Members - 2014/15 AGM
Jul 7, 2015

The Saskatchewan Games Council hosted its Annual General Meeting for the 2014/15 year in June 2015. This meeting saw big changes for the council; all three voting members are changing hands in the same year, the two year chairperson term is complete, and a long standing board member has reached the end of term.

We would like to bid farewell to members Ross Lynd (Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport), Ian Cook (Sask Sport Inc.), and Kevin Vollet (Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association). The Saskatchewan Games Council has grown under your knowledge and experience, and although we are sad to see you leave, we wish you well on your future endeavours.

We would also like to wish director at large and past-chairpeson Darrell Baker well, as his term has come to an end. Darrell has been a long time board member, beginning his time with the Saskatchewan Games Council as the Sask Sport Inc. representative.

Thank you is not enough appreciation for the dedication that now past-chairperson Larry Sauer has shown to the Saskatchewan Games Council. Larry will continue to stay on the board as past-chairperson for the next two years.

With all of the goodbyes, we also welcome many new faces to the table. Welcome to our two newest members, Audra Young (Sask Sport Inc.) and Lyle McKellar (Saskatchewan High School Athletics). We are also excited to welcome Dale Pitura as a director at large. We embrace these new faces on our board as we know they bring with them a great wealth of knowledge, expertise, and ideas that will help with the continuous growth of the Saskatchewan Games Council, the Saskatchewan Games, and Team Sask.

The Saskatchewan Games Council is also pleased to announce new Chairperson Julie Brandt. Julie has a strong background in sport and multi-sport games, and has been a valuable voice on the board. Stay tuned for a feature article!
