2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games - Site Evaluation Tours
Feb 8, 2016

The Saskatchewan Games Council will be conducting the host community site evaluation tours for the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games on February 9 and 10, 2016.

Two communities submitted bids to host the next Saskatchewan Winter Games; Lloydminster and North Battleford will play host to the site selection committee made up of Judy MacLeod-Campbell (Prince Albert), Stephanie Cuddington (Wynyard) and Rod Schmidt (Regina). Accompanying the committee will be the Saskatchewan Games Council Provincial Games Consultant, Lorne Lasuita and Executive Director, Mark Bracken

The bidding communities will have the opportunity to showcase their community as well as their sport and athlete services venues during 5 a hour presentation. The Saskatchewan Games Council will announce the successful community on February 18, 2016.

Both communities have hosted the Saskatchewan Games in the past and are excited for a chance at another opportunity to develop lasting legacies in facillities, sport equipment, officials, core volunteers, and community spirit through the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games.

Communities that bid on the Saskatchewan Games are required to form a Bid Committee, provide a comprehensive bid document outlining their vision for the Saskatchewan Games in their community, and obtain support from business and venues within the city.
