Name: Jacob Sebastian Sport: Snowboarding Years competing: I've been snowboarding for about 5 years. How did you get your start in the sport? What’s your favourite part about competing and participating in your sport? What’s something people might not know about snowboarding? Is this your first time at a Saskatchewan Games? What are you most looking forward to about the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games? What are your goals for the Games? What are your goals for your snowboarding career? Who is your personal hero?
I watched the snowboarding competitions in the X Games and decided I wanted to try it.
My favourite thing is being pushed to try new tricks.
Snowboarding training can be done all year. I train and practice tricks on trampolines when I can't get on the snow.
Yes, but my brother was at the 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games in Moose Jaw. He competed in snowboarding too.
Meeting new people and trying new things.
Just to do my best, and hopefully win a medal.
I would like to become a professional snowboarder one day.
Mark McMorris -- he is very inspiring to me. He won an Olympic medal after almost dying in a snowboard accident. I recently broke my collarbone and had to get surgery to fix it, and seeing what Mark has accomplished, I am very motivated to compete at the Saskatchewan Winter Games and do my best.
