Travel Advisory – Weather Monitoring Re: 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games Travel
Issued: February 17, 2026
Applies to: Charter bus departures scheduled for February 18, 2026

The Saskatchewan Games Council is closely monitoring significant snowfall in Meadow Lake and snowfall warnings across several regions of the province ahead of the scheduled travel for the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games on Wednesday, February 18.

The Saskatchewan Games Council is actively working with the Host Organizing Committee and our transportation partners to assess road conditions and determine appropriate contingency plans. The safety of all athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers remains our top priority.

At present, all scheduled travel plans remain in place. Due to the evolving and unpredictable nature of the weather forecast, final decisions regarding travel adjustments have not yet been made. Should travel adjustments be required, departures from each District Team departure point may be delayed or rescheduled. Communication regarding confirmed travel plans will come directly to participants from their District Team Chef de Mission.

Families of participants are encouraged to:

  • Monitor local road conditions and weather advisories in their area

  • Prioritize personal safety when making travel decisions

  • Watch for official updates from the Saskatchewan Games Council

  • Watch for confirmed travel plans from your District Team Chef de Mission

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this developing situation
