LLOYDMINSTER, SK (May 27, 2019) – The 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games (2020 SSG) Host Society is proud to announce the first major sponsor of the Games: Synergy Credit Union. Synergy Credit Union is committing $50,000 towards the upcoming Games and will be recognized as the official Volunteer Sponsor.

Throughout the week of July 26 to Aug. 1, 2020, the 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games Host Society will need approximately 1,200 volunteers of all ages from across Lloydminster and surrounding communities. These volunteers will help greet the athletes, score keep at events, assist with medical needs, manage logistics, sell merchandise and tickets, and more. Next to the athletes, the volunteer force will be the most visible and recognizable group at the event. The volunteer cohort will have a significant impact on the success of the event. The Games will welcome approximately 1,800 athletes from across the province, competing in 17 unique sports.
“The Games will not occur without support from the pillars of our community. Today, Synergy Credit Union proved their investment into Lloydminster and area, and we are grateful for their generosity,” says Kevin Kusch, Chair, 2020 SSG Host Society. “The volunteer force will be the face and hands of the Games, and we look forward to welcoming the athletes, their families, and community members to this event in our world-class city.”
The 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games Host Society is asking community members who may be interested in volunteering to save the dates of July 26 to Aug. 1, 2020. The official call for volunteers will occur in early 2020.
The City of Lloydminster was awarded the bid to host the 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games in November 2017.
