SaskEnergy fuels volunteers as Major Sponsor of the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games
Crown corporation named Official Volunteer Sponsor for first-ever co-hosted Games between a municipality and First Nation

Meadow Lake & Flying Dust First Nation, Saskatchewan The 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games Host Committee is proud to announce SaskEnergy as a Major Sponsor and the Official Volunteer Sponsor of the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, taking place February 15–21, 2026 in Flying Dust First Nation and the City of Meadow Lake.

As Volunteer Sponsor, SaskEnergy will help recruit, train, and recognize the hundreds of volunteers needed to deliver an exceptional athlete, spectator, and community experience. The Crown corporation’s support will fuel a comprehensive volunteer program designed to build capacity across both host communities — creating a lasting legacy of volunteerism well beyond the Games.

“We’re thrilled to welcome SaskEnergy as our Volunteer Sponsor,” said Brittani Dunsing, Games Manager for the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games. “Their commitment to service and community aligns perfectly with our vision for these Games. Together, we will engage volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, celebrate their contributions, and ensure our athletes, coaches, officials and visitors experience exceptional Saskatchewan hospitality.”

For more than two decades, SaskEnergy has supported the Saskatchewan Summer and Winter Games as an event sponsor. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Champion of Volunteers program, SaskEnergy has provided non-profit and charitable groups with more than $2.4 million in funding to support the invaluable work of volunteers in Saskatchewan.

“The Saskatchewan Winter Games are a celebration of athletic excellence, community spirit and collaboration,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy. “SaskEnergy’s role as the Official Volunteer Sponsor reflects our government’s commitment to ensuring our communities are safe and strong while keeping our future secure. We are pleased to support the volunteers whose efforts and dedication will not only provide a memorable Games experience but leave a legacy of pride in both Meadow Lake and Flying Dust First Nation.”

Volunteers will be needed in a variety of areas ranging from venue operations and athlete services to ceremonies, transportation, media, culture, and more. No previous Games experience is required, and training will be provided. For a full list of roles and more information on becoming a volunteer, visit saskgames.ca/winter/volunteers.

“SaskEnergy is proud to sponsor the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games,” said Mark Guillet, SaskEnergy President and CEO. “Volunteers are the heart of every successful event, and their dedication reflects the spirit of community that defines our province. We’re honoured to stand behind them and celebrate the impact of volunteerism in Saskatchewan.”
