LLOYDMINSTER, SK (April 1, 2019) – Sponsorships are now available for the Saskatchewan Summer Games (SSG),
which will be hosted In Lloydminster from July 26 to August 1, 2020.
In 452 days, all eyes from the Land of Living Skies will be fixated on Canada’s only border city as the 2020 SSG Host
Society and the Lloydminster community welcomes over 1,800 athletes and coaches, families and friends. With a total
expected number of guests of over 7,000 over the week, 2020 SSG will prove to be a boon to the community and
businesses alike.

community, while supporting young athletes,” says Guy Dudding, chair, Friends of the Games, 2020 SSG Host Society.
“Lloydminster has proven its rich history of supporting the community and its visitors through sponsorship of past high-level
athletic and community-minded sporting events including Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, the RBC Cup, and
more. We’re excited to show off the best of our city to the athletes, their families, and fans in summer 2020.

The support of the local business community is vital to the overall success of 2020 SSG and will be an excellent

This will be the second time Lloydminster will host the Saskatchewan Summer Games, following its first appointment in
2008. The success of the 2008 Games was recognized by Tourism Saskatchewan, who provided the 2008 Host Society
with an award for excellence in promotional/marketing campaigns. Lloydminster has also twice played host to the
Alberta Games: the Winter Games in 1982, and the Summer Games in 1997.
The purpose of the Saskatchewan Games is to provide an opportunity for the province’s developing athletes,
coaches and officials to participate in a multi-sport event in preparation for the higher level of competition. To learn
