LLOYDMINSTER, SK (January 21, 2020) – Two whitetail deer—named Tansi and Ravi—are the official mascots of the Saskatchewan Summer Games. Helping bring them to Lloydminster for the 2020 instalment of the Saskatchewan Summer Games is Beaton Agencies Ltd. from Lashburn, Sask.
The 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games (2020 SSG) Host Society is pleased to announce Beaton Agencies Ltd. as the official mascot sponsor for the upcoming Games hosted this July and August. Before arriving in Lloydminster this summer, the mascots will travel across Saskatchewan to nine district pep rallies in support of the athletes, coaches, and their families.
“We are proud to sponsor the 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games. Events like these are important for our communities to come together and take pride in what we have to offer. We wish all the young athletes good luck and great experiences," says Beaton Agencies' owner Ayleigh Stoughton, whose company has pledged $15,000 to support the Games.
This brother and sister pair of whitetail deer have been included in all Games in Saskatchewan since the 2005 Canada Games, and will be visible during several public events In Lloydminster, including the Colonial Days Parade, Opening Ceremonies, Closing Ceremonies and numerous sporting and special events.
"To see a rural business owner step up to the plate and show their support to the athletes, many of whom hail from rural communities, is extremely gratifying," said Kevin Kusch, 2020 SSG Host Society Chair. "We're excited to have Beaton Agencies join the efforts in promoting healthy living while earning personal bests and venturing for podium finishes."
The 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Lloydminster begin July 26 and run until Aug. 1, 2020. The Games highlight approximately 2,000 athletes from across the province competing in 14 different sports.
